Kawane's organic tea Taruwakien

Taruwakien's tea is "Kawane tea", which is one of the Three major tea in Japan. We have been making organic tea all the time for about 30 years. You can enjoy the original scent of tea, because our tea is made by shallow steaming method, and cultivated in the high cold ground of Kawane, Shizuoka prefecture in Japan. Tea leaves are beautiful as a needle, and the color of tea when poured is transparent and elegant. The point to drink deliciously is to take it slowly with cold hot water. We do all the processes from tea cultivation to processing, so all the tea leaves used are tea leaves cultivated in our garden. We will deliver environmentally friendly, safe and secure tea directly from our garden. Please enjoy our organic tea.

In Taruwakien, Yoshiaki Taruwaki, who is the founder of this garden, has been cultivating tea for about 30 years without using pesticides, and we have not used chemical fertilizer since 2002. The reason why we started organic cultivation is because we thought that the way of tea cultivation depending on chemical fertilizer is not desirable for the environment. We have stopped using pesticides and chemical fertilizers to overcome this situation and regain the natural way of tea cultivation. We are also focusing on making natural and healthy soil, including homemade organic fertilizer (compost), and strong tea trees full of vitality are growing up. We will continue to challenge ourselves to coexist with nature and to deliver delicious tea, nurtured by Kawane's nature.

Taruwakien is located in a cold place, about 630 meters above sea level. This is about the same height as the Tokyo Sky Tree (634 meters), so it is called "Town in the sky". The temperature difference between day and night is as large as 10 ℃ or more, the environment blessed with moderate sunlight and moisture by mist is ideal for cultivating good quality tea, it can produce delicious tea with aroma. In Kawane Honcho with our garden, tea gardens spread across the Oi River penetrating the town, and every day the steam locomotive of the Oigawa Railway runs, and a peaceful landscape spreads. Popular events such as "Tea Picking Experience" are also held, so please be sure to come and visit Kawane's nature. We are looking forward to being able to deliver our organic tea to everyone. 

Yasuaki Taruwaki

Hello! I am Yasuaki Taruwaki, the successor to our garden. I make organic tea taking great care with my father. Organic tea is very precious because it is only about 2% of the total production of tea in Japan, so it is a "miracle" to be able to meet. Today, it is commonplace to drink tea, picking production areas and cultivation methods according to your preference. Actually, I am realizing that the needs for organic tea are increasing year by year, even in contact with customers at farmers' market. We are making tea every day so that everyone will be pleased. I would like you to drink our tea that grew up in this wonderful environment.
